The Dublin Waste to Energy Facility converts waste that cannot be reused or recycled into clean energy 03/02/2022

#ThrowbackThursday

Located in Poolbeg, Dublin Port, the facility annually diverts at least 600,000 tonnes of non-recyclable waste from landfill. This generates enough electricity for over 100,000 homes with potential heating for 50,000 additional homes.

Thorntons Recycling were the very first vehicles to enter the facility when it opened in 2017.

The Very Reverend Ivan Tonge, parish priest in the Ringsend community of Dublin, paid a visit to the Dublin Waste to Energy facility last year. This video documents his tour of the facility and shows some of the photographs Father Tonge took during his visit.
