Thorntons Recycling have provided our Waste Disposal services since the hospital opened in 2006. The company is very dependable and their staff carry out their duties in a professional manner. Their helpdesk is very efficient to reactive collections.
They dispose of the hospital’s general domestic waste, recycling waste and food waste. Also, provide confidential waste cabinets and remove the contents for confidential shredding each week.

John joined Thorntons Recycling in 2006 and has over 30 years commercial sales experience within the B2B and corporate environment. He has full control of the management of the commercial sales team which extends to new business and key account management sales force. John has also executed marketing campaigns for the Thorntons Recycling brand. Previous employment includes direct sales and marketing positions with Pitney Bowes UK, Pitney Bowes Ireland and 02 Ireland.

Niamh joined Thorntons Recycling in 2003 and is the longest serving member of the Sales Team. As Commercial Key Account Manager Niamh is responsible for managing Thorntons Recycling’s larger account portfolio. With over 25 years in sales and 18 years in waste management she has invaluable experience within all commercial sectors including construction, healthcare, facility management and manufacturing. Niamh prides herself in going the extra mile for Thornton Recycling’s key customers and she is well placed to advise and guide clients to achieve their waste management needs and sustainable objectives within their waste contracts.

Gerry has over 30 years’ experience in sales and customer service. The wealth of experience that Gerry has accrued over this time is evident in his attention to detail in ensuring that his customers’ needs are met. Gerry has exceptional experience operating with the SME and large commercial, industrial, construction, healthcare, hospitality, and property management sectors. Customer focus, relationship and retention of customers are cornerstone to his approach and evidence that Gerry and Thorntons Recycling appreciate and value each and every customer.

Peter has been an integral part of our Commercial Sales Team since 2005. He brings with him vast experience within the commercial business sector, specialising in commercial and industrial waste management and recycling services. He currently oversees a varied and extensive portfolio which includes Confidential Shredding Services where both “on-site” and “off-site” solutions are offered to our clients. Peter works closely with clients to achieve a "One Stop Shop Solution" for their waste management and recycling needs.
Commercial Account Manager
Brian has worked in the waste & recycling industry for the last twenty years. Brian has experience within all aspects of the waste and recycling industry and has worked closely with many property management companies and film production companies in recent years. Brian is very proactive when dealing with apartment and office blocks and makes regular site visits to make sure that all aspects of the service is being adhered to and looks at alternative service options to increase recycling. Brian’s personable manner and proactive approach has been very beneficial to his commercial customer base.

Barry joined the Commercial Sales Team with Thorntons Recycling in 2020 when they took over Access Waste. Barry has worked in the Waste Management & Recycling Industry with Access Waste since 2005 and filled many roles within the commercial department including Sales Manager. Barry has vast experience within the B2B marketplace and is a very valuable addition to the Commercial Sales Team and has a wealth of knowledge to share with his commercial business clients.

Patrick joined Thorntons Recycling in 2018 initially working in the commercial transport department before advancing to a sales administrator role where he excelled. Patrick showed great eagerness to learn and was fast tracked to becoming a Commercial Sales Account Manager covering Dubin 1, 3, 7, 11 and 15. Previous employment includes Avoca Handweavers and Tesco Ireland.
