LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice provides hospice care to children with life-limiting conditions and supports their families, from the time of diagnosis to the final days of the child’s life and throughout bereavement. Their aim is to enhance the quality of life for families, including addressing physical comfort, health, and well-being, as well as the emotional, social and spiritual aspects of caring. This holistic, family-centered approach to care enables children to be children instead of patients and gives parents a break from caring round the clock, so they can focus on being Mums and Dads. All care is free to families however, 80% of operational costs must be fundraised each year.
Gillian Neary, Fundraising Manager at LauraLynn, said: “We are so grateful to Thorntons Recycling for choosing LauraLynn once again as their charity partner. Since the start of 2018, Thorntons and their customers have raised over €70,000 through an innovative incentive for online payment of bills. This has enabled us to provide hands-on care as well as vital supports for parents and brothers and sisters.” “Thank you to everyone involved in this innovative scheme; you’re helping to make the most of short and precious lives,” Neary concluded.
“It is only when you get help that you realise you have needed it for a long time. Thank you to everyone who supports LauraLynn because without people like you, we don’t know where we would be.”
