Reflective Garden of Wellsprings, Celbridge
June 7th 2017The Reflective Garden finally opened this week for the Holy Faith Sisters convent in Wellsprings, Celbridge.
We supplied some skips and compost needed for the creating of this wonderful, reflective space.
The full story of the garden and other activities are available on the convent website Click Here.
Excerpt from Holy Faith Sisters posting, ‘About four years ago it was suggested that we change the field behind the Convent into an outdoor space where people could take time out to relax, reflect and pray. We pooled ideas and drew rough sketches. The idea both energised and enthused us. Reality took over as the realisation dawned that this would be a mammoth task and very costly.
Sometime towards the end of 2014 , Carmel Wynne, a Holy Faith Associate approached us about reviving the idea of a Reflective Garden. This came about because Carmel was attending a course called Landmark and as part of it she was required to present a project – her chosen project – to undertake turning the dream of a Reflective Garden into a reality. She consulted an expert in the area of landscape and design. His advice to her was that the field was far too big a project. His suggestion was to scale it back and upgrade and redesign the existing patio area and indoor courtyard area. The main brief was to design a space of relaxation and tranquillity but of low maintenance.
A place of quiet peace, quiet and tranquillity. A place to take time out to stop reflect and be in harmony with oneself and God’s creation
This project dovetails very well the Holy Faith Irish Regional Team’s focus for this coming year, Care for the Earth.’
