Ashbourne Recycling Day
May 2nd 2017The annual Ashbourne Recycling Day takes place this Saturday, May 6th.
Time for the Spring Clean! The hugely popular day allows locals to clear out their homes and gardens of unwanted items.
Organised by Joe Bonner, “To date we have recycled approximately 816 tonnes of general bulky household waste and 258 tonnes (that is well over 1,000 Tonnes) of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). While there is no charge for using the WEEE recycling section a small charge for disposal of general household waste applies, making it affordable to all and helps towards paying for the considerable running costs of these events.”
Again this year there will be free compost supplied by Thorntons Recycling
Come prepared to avail of this free compost – bring bags.

As in our last two events there will be an on-site confidential document shredding facility.
Thorntons Recycling are providing this secure shredding at no charge.
All documents/files are shredded to the EN15713 standard.
Materials accepted for confidential shredding include paper files and paper documents.
We would ask that the customers remove the documents from the ring folders and also remove the plastic sheets/wallets.
Each customer is welcome to observe the shredding procedure.
Commercial customers welcome.
